Image analytics software uses artificial intelligence to read images and video from cameras, recognize objects and events, and turn them into data for alerts, lookups and statistics. Vaidio AI Vision is a platform in this category: it runs on the camera system a business already has and keeps data on site.

What does image analytics software do?

A standard camera only records; reviewing the footage depends on people. Image analytics software adds three layers of work:

  • Recognition: identifying people, vehicles, faces, license plates, protective equipment, smoke and fire in each frame.
  • Alerts: sending notifications when an event needs handling, based on configured zones and rules.
  • Statistics and lookup: counting, building heatmaps, and finding past events across large video archives using filters.

The data produced from video is stored in structured form, so it supports operational reporting, not only security.

Three main application groups

Smart recognition

Behavior analysis and heatmaps

  • Heatmaps show where people and vehicles appear most in the frame, hour by hour; to measure how long people stay in an area, combine it with the dwell time feature. → Heatmap
  • Visitor counts and traffic by day, hour and zone to evaluate store performance and promotions. → Traffic monitoring
  • Demographic analysis (age groups, gender) for customer statistics: figures by age group and gender are viewed in Vaidio Data, requires face recognition (separate license); scoped per project.

Crowd density analysis

  • Congestion and overload alerts when density exceeds a threshold in walkways, lobbies or special zones. → Crowd detection
  • Operations coordination: staffing, opening additional counters or gates based on real numbers.
  • Evaluating ad placements or service counters against measured traffic.

How deployment works

  1. Survey the system: the cameras and the video management software (VMS) in use.
  2. Choose the shape: an on-site server or edge devices, and pick the video analytics features that match the problem, enabling them per camera by license, with no extra cameras required.
  3. Connect Vaidio to the existing VMS or recorder. Vaidio integrates with more than 30 VMS and NVR platforms.
  4. Tune the AI: detection zones, confidence thresholds, alert rules and notification channels (dashboard, mobile app, email; Zalo, SMS and Telegram can be added).
  5. Optimize in operation based on real data from the first weeks.

Criteria for choosing image analytics software

  • Runs on existing cameras; replacing devices is not a requirement.
  • Integrates with the VMS already in operation (Milestone, Genetec, Nx Witness and many others).
  • Supports on-premise deployment when data must stay inside the business.
  • Provides search and reporting tools, not only alerts.
  • Allows confidence thresholds and detection zones to be tuned to the actual site.
